September 2017: Fundamentals: Back to School - Everything but the Swingout

Reflecting the jazz music we love, we’ll work with the structure of jazz rhythms, shapes, and phrasing to find moments for easy improvisation with a partner. We’ll explore making individual choices within a comfortable lead/follow partnership with a special focus on beginning and ending a dance together.

Fundamentals classes are aimed at any student who has completed the Lindy 1 curriculum. We encourage students to consider taking Fundamentals classes concurrently with either Lindy 2 or Lindy 3 classes - everyone can always be working on their fundamentals!
