Class Description

Are you are ready to take on a fast-paced, athletic solo jazz routine? If so, this class is for you! The Big Apple is a routine based on a dance craze of the 1930s. The modern version of the Big Apple was composed by Frankie Manning for Whitey’s Lindy Hoppers and can be seen in the 1937 movie “Keep Punchin´.” which can be seen in a video clip here.  In this 3-week class, you will learn the entire routine! Come prepared to sweat, focus, and throw down.

To qualify for this class, you must be able to confidently dance the material from "Solo Jazz and the Shim Sham" class.

COVID-19 Policy: For this in-person class, we are proof of up-to-date vaccination (including boosters as applicable). Masks are optional. If a COVID spike is observed, the instructors reserve the right to ask folks to dance masked.
