December 2021: When Structure Sets You Free

Improvisation is a fundamental element of jazz music and dance, but is jazz improvisation REALLY improvised? Yes…and no! In this All Levels solo dance class we’ll explore the intersection of your jazz dance skills, experience soloing, and creative expression.  By practicing jazz steps, form, and transitions, we’ll set the stage for a satisfying solo jazz improvisation. Let’s build your confidence in taking those intuitive risks in the spirit of the moment. 

COVID-19 Policy: For this in-person class, masking and proof of vaccination are required (two doses of Pfizer or Moderna, or one dose of J&J). Proof of vaccination can be provided in the form of a physical card or photo, and will be checked before entering class. As mandated by the city of Brookline, you must be fully masked upon entering the venue.
