August 2024: Lindy 3: Slow and in the Pocket

"I love your dress!" "Thanks, it has pockets!" 

And so can your dancing--see what I did there? Pockets are the best, and we will show you how to store all sorts of cool stuff in them for your dancing--but mainly how to dance in the pocket, so to speak. What does that mean? Hang out with us and see--we promise it won't be a drag (but we will teach you how to do drags)! In this slow lindy class we'll develop skills and strategies for approaching partnered jazz dance at slower tempos, focusing on timing, stretch and space, partner communication, and rhythm. 

Lindy 3 classes are intended for students who have completed (and are confident in) all elements of the Lindy 2 curriculum (which includes at least one session of Fundamentals). The topic for these classes changes every month at the discretion of the instructors. This class can count towards completion of the Lindy 3 "Slow Lindy" requirement for the Starlight Pass.
