August 2025: Solo Jazz - Taking inspiration for clips! Leon James edition

Description: In this class, we will dig in on some old Leon James clips. We will introduce more vocabulary, but the bulk of the class time will be spent on exploring ranges of movement and expression in jazz dance, with particular influence from this and other Leon James clips. https://www.youtube.com/watch?<wbr></wbr>v=I1OHyewz4EI Kevin is not an expert on Leon James, and this will inevitably be just his take, and then you will build your own take as well! While this is a solo class, this sort of practice is excellent for building expression and dance into your partnering as well. The class will emphasize pulse, rhythm, movement through steps, and time.

Prerequisites: Solo Jazz and the Shim Sham, or equivalent.
