February 2026: Special Topics: Solo Charleston Chronoshift

Description: Many people learn Charleston initially from a partnered perspective. In this solo jazz we will explore a 20s Charleston basic and 30s/40s Charleston basic from an individual perspective. We will also explore common movements in Charleston during these different time periods and some of the same movements but adjust the stylings to show how they changed over time.

Requirements: You must have taken Solo Jazz and the Shim Sham or have equivalent experience. While the point of this class is not to be physically demanding, this is two hours of Charleston and could be physically challenging.
