It's spring and there's a summer full of Swing dance events on the horizon—now's a great time to refresh your skills, or learn some new ones. New Lindy1, Advanced Beginner, and Intermediate series begin on May 4 and 5. Register now!
Mondays in May with Dan & Shana at First Church in Cambridge
- 7:00pm: Advanced Beginner Swingout Variations & Styling: Learn how to stylize and dress up your basics this month! After taking this class, you'll never run short of musical and stylish options for your swing out.
- 8:00pm: Lindy1A (Beginner): Basic Patterns and Charleston: Learn the basics of partner dancing, the fundamental moves of Lindy Hop and Charleston as well as turns and variations. No previous experience or partner needed.
Solo Jazz Tuesdays in May with Heather & Lee at Dance Union in Somerville
- 7:30pm: Intermediate Solo Jazz: If you've got enough solo jazz moves for the Shim Sham and Big Apple, this class will help you take your solo vocabulary and movement to the next level. Over four weeks, you'll learn popular variations like Al and Leon stylings, how to incorporate solo jazz ideas into partner dances, as well more advanced moves and combinations.
- 8:30pm: Advanced Beginner Solo Jazz: Our Advanced Beginner class on solo jazz. You'll learn the basic vocabulary of solo jazz, including all the moves you need to know to do the Shim Sham and the Big Apple.
